Objectives:

After completing this module, students will be able to distinguish between scalar and vector quantities in physics and to manipulate vectors graphically and algebraically.

	Study the Web-material. Do all the exercises. Check out the links placed inside the body of the material. The links to additional Web-Materials placed at the end of the module may be helpful if you are looking for additional information.
	Chapters 1.1 - 1.6 of Serway contain material that you probably will refer back to later. For now, just remember where you can find this material. Concentrate on chapters 1.7 - 1.11.
	Module 1 on the CD discusses problem solving techniques. Keep these techniques in mind and concentrate on modules 2.1 - 2.5.

After completing this module, students will be able to analyze physical situations and to correctly determine distance, displacement, speed, velocity, and acceleration.
